Krakow, often spelled as Crakow, is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland, dating back to the 7th century. Krakow used to be the capital of Poland, between 1038 to 1596. Krakow became the seat of the Polish government. During the Mongol invasion, Krakow suffered and burned but was literally rebuilt on the same location. At the background with the golden dome is Kaplica Zygmuntowska, or Sigismund's Chapel, is a classic example of Renaissance architecture outside of Italy.

Suspiciously hanging by the entrance of the Cathedral is what is believed to be a "Dragon" bone. In Polish folklore, it is believed that the world will come to an end when the bone falls to the ground. Legend has it that this dragon of Wawel, wreak havoc across the countryside, burn villages, devouring livestock and terrorizing the people. During King Krakus reign, prize was offered to the great warrior that would beat and kill the dragon. A shoemaker's apprentice by the name of Skuba successfully defeated the dragon by tricking the beast into eating a lamb he left at the entrance of the dragon's cave. The lamb was stuffed with sulphur, which caused the dragon's stomach to burst. Claiming his prize, Skuba married the King's daughter.
